19-July-2006:  The Preserve at Botany Bay was approved by the Coastal Zone Management Division

On July 25th, 2006, the Coastal Zone Management Division of the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources approved the development of The Preserve at Botany Bay. Having been an undeveloped private estate for over 80 years, Botany Bay is now available to the public for the first time ever; and the Timbers Company, in joint venture with SV Capital of Denver, is now offering The Preserve at Botany Bay, as its newest boutique resort and first in the Caribbean.

The Preserve at Botany Bay is a private, gated enclave comprised of 367 acres of lush, tropical forest that encompasses the entire western tip of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
